No Turning Back: Michigan vs Michigan State

Listening To: Take Off the Blues by Foreign Exchange
Forecast: Autumnal Color Shift

Years and years of frustration are being levied against Michigan this year. Decade long streaks are falling left and right. Not to teams that are in the national spotlight, but middle of the pack who pile on after the play NFL Blitz style. Hats off to all who made this possible, The NCAA and the B10 welcome the humbling of one of the nations most storied programs. Martin can't go back now, the fans can't hide their heads now. We wanted this, the rest of the nation prayed for this to happen and now it all has been realised. Michigan is down, Michigan is out, Michigan is looking to find those answers. The faces have changed, the attention too, but this is Michigan and we will not quit.

Relax, this season is a test of Michigan....360 degrees.

Xtra Points
  • The secondary is just not getting it. It just isnt there. Not saying Michigan secondaries have ever been quality but this squad just doesn't have it. Trent is not a man to man guy, hell he's not a zone guy either. He is a very smart player, and extremely fast. Not sure how this doesn't correlate into an above average CB. D. Warren, you are biting too hard relax kid, we all know you are phenomenal, let the game come to you. Brandon Harrison, so instrumental in "The Horror" of 07, also integral in our B10 2007 resurgence, know your position. Charles Stewart and Stevie Brown....a Costco size bulk FAIL or a basket full of F***. Take your pick. Cissoko will be very very good soon.
  • Obi-wan, you were expected to mentor the younger guys when it almost seems as they are mentoring you 40% of the time. Getting sucked up into the line is not a better excuse for a missed assignment than "I got blocked coach."
  • Brandon Graham stay for another year please.
  • Our condolences go out to Sam McGuffie, he found out this isn't Cy-Fair and left al ittle of himself on the field yesterday.
  • Second straight week of Minor as the starter, 2nd straight week of a successful running game. McGuffie should be used as the slot as I have said all YEAR through various media.
  • Who Is James Rogers and why is he starting?
  • Special teams are vastly improving, Zoltan is still a straight up G and our KR team i think is finally set. However, MSU kick misses were more a product of it being Sparty than anything we did....Warren needs to work on his scoop and score abilities.
  • OL, yea whatever.
  • Threet you gotta start making those throws baby. This is week 8 and you still hit bubble screens with about 60% accuracy, your deep ball lacks a little touch and your post throws are not strong enough. Never thought I'd say I miss Ryan Malletts throwing. Elusiveness. I'm not asking you to be the second coming of Reggie Bush(619), but a lot of the sacks you have given up this year are mostly you tripping over yourself or incapability to stay on your feet if you get bumped into. You are, however, looking better and better on your draw plays, the feet are becoming an asset in the most remote way. Also, WHO THROWS A DEEP BALL TO A FULLBACK? MOUNDROS HAD NO CHANCE!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Our WR's looked confused if its not a bubble screen or short slant.
  • 3rd straight B10 game where we have given up 21+ unanswered points.
  • Is this because the Barwis system isn't working? I don't see the opposing teams wearing down, I see both sides of the Michigan offense wearing down. Have we stopped the training? Or are we just slow overall, because if Blair White a white Walk-on receiver from Nebraska can torch the D to the tune of 5000000+ yards then something is wrong. Well you might say that is racist, that I am holding white receivers to a lower standard. Sure maybe it is, but you can't deny the glaring fact the best skill position players are 9/10 blacks. Props to Blair for exposing how long its going to be before we can contend for a Natl Title let alone B10 title.

So this leaves the program where? We can only hope that one day we will play a complete game. We can't just play one quarter or one half anymore, we have to give it 60 minutes. We have the time, it is forever fleeting.......The youth factor persists on BOTH sides of the ball, but is more prevalent on the offensive side. 10/11 being fresh faces will never click consistently in year one. On defense they say they were supposed to carry this time while the offense gets its feet wet, however they didnt realise what our D had last year. Jamar Adams, Brandent Englemon and Shawn Crable made that D. Our replacement safeties this year couldnt hold a candle to what we had last year or to anyone for that matter. So sit back, kick up your feet and enjoy the fact you atleast get to watch BLUE every weekend, we coul dbe some other program where you may or may not catch your team play, but we aren't we are Michigan, the ALL TIME, The Victors.

Kick off your shoes, take off the BLUES and come to me.......So much to do, so much is meant for you to see. You might as well, come a little closer.......
